Take part in an exciting kayak adventure on a bioluminescent bay not far from San Juan and be amazed as the water glistens and sparkles underneath you! When you brush your paddles or hands through the water, the plankton lights up a fluorescent color, making your kayak adventure a truly magical experience.

Puerto Rico is by far the best country to experience a bioluminescent adventure. There are only 5 lagoons in the world which have glistening waters and Puerto Rico is home to 3 of them!

Begin kayaking at sunset and enjoy picturesque views of the Fajardo area. As the sun goes down, begin paddling towards the fascinating lagoon at Las Cabezas de San Juan Reserve for your nighttime adventure. Under the blanket of the night sky and the historical lighthouse of Fajardo, you can touch run your fingers through the water and swim in the waters lagoon that glows right before your eyes!

Come experience a real adventure which that will leave you breathless!

Important note: Unfortunately due to natural causes the bioluminescence is glowing very inconsistent at this time. Natural debris carried by the current may affect visibility.  When there is a Full Moon the glow effect is also affected. In order to improve the visibility, guides may use black tarps to cover the kayaks and riders; this promotes darkness and provides a greater appreciation of the microorganisms. Guests will still be able to enjoy the rest of the experience including the paddling lesson, kayaking through the mangrove channel and the observation at Laguna Grande, which is a wonderful experience, but expectations need to be clear as the glow may be very low and we want to avoid any claims. This is a natural reserve and some conditions caused by nature can’t be controlled

Discover the rich heritage of Puerto Rico and wander the cobblestone streets of Old San Juan — one of the best-preserved Spanish colonial cities in the world — on this half-day tour. Admire the architectural jewels on the small island of Old San Juan city, and then absorb fascinating history at the Museo de las Américas. Explore 500-year-old San Cristobal Fort and take in breathtaking views of San Juan Bay and El Morro Fort. Round-trip transport from select hotels is included.

After hotel pickup, you’ll cross a bridge and enter the second oldest city in the New World — Old San Juan, located on a small island. In this beautiful city dating back to 1513, admire well-preserved examples of Spanish colonial architecture. Pass by the white-marbled Capitol Building facing the Atlantic and Casa de España, dedicated to the preservation of Spanish culture, built with colored tiles and elegant towers typical of Spanish Moorish architecture.

As you make your way through the hilly and narrow streets, you’ll come across parts of the massive City Wall, or La Muralla, nearly 20 feet (6 meters) thick and up to 60 feet (18 meters) tall in certain places.

Next, travel with your guide to Cuartel de Ballajá, old Spanish military barracks from the 19th century, a three-level structure arranged around a large courtyard. Learn more about the impressive architecture and head up to Museo de las Américas, which occupies the second floor.

Inside, discover an excellent collection of art and anthropological exhibits relating to Puerto Rico and the Americas in general. Not all of the exhibits appear in English, but luckily, you will be provided with the information necessary to make this an engaging experience.

Browse through the museum’s collections on American indigenous tribes, including the Taíno, and work your way through the African Heritage wing and enlightening displays on colonization, slave trade and rebellion in Puerto Rico. In the Popular Arts section, you’ll find traditional folk art and wood carvings from all over the Americas.

Then, make a 30-minute stop at San Cristobal Fort, built in 1785 and the largest Spanish military structure in the New World. Learn more about its ingenious layout, its storied history in protecting the city from attack, and capture alluring views of San Juan Bay and 400-year-old El Morro Fort. Your tour ends with 30 to 45 minutes of shopping to then be dropped-off at your hotel.

Sit back and relax on this leisurely trip to the El Yunque Rainforest the only subtropical rainforest in the United States Forest Service and a relaxing time at Luquillo Beach where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean. We have several stops such as the Waterfall and Mamayes River

.

The forest system is a nature lover’s wonderland with river streams, hiking trails, and panoramic vistas. There’s no other place like it in Puerto Rico. In fact, there’s no other place like it in the entire United States. Under its trees, you’ll find a unique ecosystem that has enchanted its visitors for centuries. Which at this time is in nature’s recovery. This Tour gives a peak preview at the Rainforest after Hurricane Marias forceful winds.

Enjoy the Rainforest from a different view. One of its best known sites, La Coca Falls will be your first stop for a photo opportunity, then at the Yokaho Observation Tower with a  beautiful panoramic view, next stop is at the Mameyes River, (Puente Roto Crossing) which is the most popular water play area on the forest that is currently open to visitors. There you can take pictures and cool off. Water shoes are recommended to go into the river.

From your Tour Guide you will learn about the diverse vegetation and wildlife. Like all ecosystems in wake of a natural disaster, the rainforest will now go through a process of succession, with pioneer species taking root first. See how Mother Nature starts bringing back the lush Greenery and recover.

After a relaxing time by the river at Rainforest you will enjoy a 2 hour stop at Luquillo Beach.  Swim and/or enjoy lunch at the famous Luquillo (Beach & Kiosks) for some local cuisine such as fritters such as “alcapurias”, “bacalaitos” or other local flavors. Cost of lunch not included.
